Trail systems aren't just paths through the woods; they're a pathway to a better quality of life. Trails forge connections, promote well-being, and turn your community into a vibrant, healthier, and happier place to call home.
Pelham's Greenway Trail is a six-and-a-half-mile trail system that will eventually connect the sidewalks along Bearden Road to the entrance of Oak Mountain State Park. Phases I and II opened in the summer of 2020 and stretch from Bearden Road, through the City Park Complex, and past the Dog Park. Due to access issues and other planned development and construction, the decision was made to put Phases III and IV on hold and move forward with Phase V. The first part was completed when Shelby County widened Oak Mountain State Park Road in 2022. The second was completed in 2024 with the City's Amphitheater Road widening project.
